Most of us every often might decide to loose or gain some weight in order to be healthier or to look better. However, Eating disorders are another category of psychological problems in human and sometimes can be as serious as compromising person’s life.  You might have heard some person’s might have lost their life due its complication i.e. by loosing too much weight that finally affected badly on their health. Eating disorders require psychological treatment without using any medicine. This is because it  related mostly to person’s personality and thinking.
Eating disorders comes in different forms. The most common form is one which person cannot stop eating, then after eating feel guilty or afraid of getting fat. Then with different ways make self vomiting and try to get eaten food out. The other kind is person afraid of gaining weight or fat and due to such fear end up eating very little or not eating and becoming unhealthy underweight. Some women some may also loose menstruation.
Some of the root of this problem might be related to emotional trauma , deep sense of self worthlessness, depression, looking outward for trying to fit figure wise with other same gender and or following strictly cultural view of beauty, fashion, etc. In my many years of practice treating such patients, I have noticed these disorders seems to be more among women (specially teenagers and younger age) than men in general.
Any of the above eating disorders if not controllable then only psychotherapy conducted by clinical psychologist can help. Treatment might take few months of once a week 50 minutes face-to-face therapy. Psychological testing such as personality test which all are a paper pencil test would also be necessary to understand more the root of the problem. However, patient at least should see psychologist once for evaluation of the problem and diagnosis.

1- Make yourself a daily diary of foods, snacks, drinks, you already took.  This dairy will have several columns. Columns include date, time, food snack or drink you took, your emotional condition while taking them, am I hungry or not?, and last column will be emotional consequences of eating or drinking
2-   2- Every 5 days review this dairy and find out the pattern of your eating habit and reasons for binging without being hungry.
